From, gathering your items, getting numerous quotes, booking a removal, packing, and finally moving, we know its a stressful time. That's why we have come up with a few simple tips on things to remember when your removal day comes. Sometimes when you think about the big things, you forget the little things.

#1 First aid kit: Always be prepared for the worst, even if the worst comes in the shape of a few minor scratches. Injuries can happen when moving, big, and small. Always ensure you have bandages, pain relief, wound dressings, gloves, and scissors nearby.

#2 Kids: For those of you with kids, the last thing you want is the little ones snapping at your heels telling you they are bored. Remember to organize some of their favorite toys, or activities, so that they will be entertained. While it is important to make sure the kids are out of harms way, while heavy items are moved.

#3 Energy: Often moves are hour long processes, this means it is important to be awake and alert while they take place. Keeping your fluids up is important, as well as having a hearty breakfast. While caffeine, in the form of a nice cup of coffee, is always helpful in keeping you awake!

#4 Furry kids: While having the little ones snapping at your feet may seem bad, your other 'children' may actually leave a bite if not kept under control! The easiest way to look after your pets is to keep them in a secure location, while providing them with the occasional treat, this way they won't become an unwanted nuisance under your feet!

#5 I'm just going to the bathro...: Toilet paper. Never forget toilet paper. Whats worse than being stuck in a car when you are desperate to go?.. Being stuck in your house when you are desperate to go! Making sure you have enough toilet paper to last the day so neither yourself, or your removalists, get stuck in a...sticky...situation, is one very important thing to keep in mind.

#6 Don't sweat it!: Whether it's simply from the stress, or whether it's from the rigors of moving heavy items around, your almost certain to work up a sweat. After finally finishing the move, you get into your nice air conditioned car (or heated, depending on the season) and find yourself smelling like something that crawled out of the tip! It's okay, you'll just go grab a change of clothes out of that box...oh wait...that box is already on it's way to the new house, in the back of the removalist van... Always remember to have a spare change of clothes at the ready!
